All of my friends understand me....well, most of them do. They understand that I absolutely love a great outfit, great shoes, shirts, handbags, belts -- the works. But most of all they understand that I absolutely refuse to enjoy any of those items at retail prices. Who does that anymore? We are in a recession, but of course, my sense of style knows nothing of that awful word recession. I HAVE to look cute every day -- Sunday through Saturday! The whole thrill of the "cuteness" is the fact that no matter what I put on, you can guarantee I got it for a little of nothing (in the words of my Southern-raised grandmother)!
So....Monday morning rolls around! I get up, get showered and am ready to face the day -- and the office. I stand there looking into my closet. Hmmmm.....what should I wear? It's a beautiful sunny morning in Indianapolis (enjoy it - these kind of days are few and far between). I look at the perfectly tailored Elie Tahari heather grey pinstriped suit hanging in my closet. The flat front slacks are made for me...the jacket forms to my body as if I had created it. Ahhh.....what a feeling of confidence, business savvy, and well, sheer gorgeousness! I complete the outfit with a cute white top that has a sexy keyhole opening in the front, and a pair of grey snakeskin stilettos that Carlos Santana designed just for me.
Now I'm ready to jet out the door. I'm feeling happy and beautiful and looking twice that good! But most of all the entire outfit -- designer suit, designer shoes, keyhole top -- costs me less than $20.00. That makes me feel better than anything in the world -- looking good, but saving money doing it! Believe it.... you can't make this stuff up!
I'll keep you posted on my adventures in thrifting!
