Hello, Fashionistas! I know it's been a minute since I've blogged with you all, but a lot of things have been going on and saying that I've been very busy would be an understatement. So.......here goes!
A few weeks ago I had surgery. Though it was major surgery, it was an easy one and my recovery period was more than spectacular. Thank God for that! Of course with any surgery, you're sent home with a 10-page list of instructions: what to eat, what not to eat; what to drink, what not to drink; no lifting heavy objects; no driving; no wearing high heel shoes! Hold up.....huh.....what! NO WEARING HIGH HEEL SHOES! What is the world coming to? How in the high holy hell would I EVER survive without my hot pink suede Steve Madden pumps with the 5" heels? Say it ain't so.
But I made myself do it -- for I know it was only to make me better. Right? Riiiiight! So that was my driving force to follow the rules and make it all better. I can't do tennis shoes, or flip flops or house shoes with a cute pair of Rock and Republic jeans. How would I explain that to all of my Sisters in Fashion. So for two weeks I wore nothing but jogging suits (of course, they were Juicy Couture -- I'm recuperating, not dying)! If I had to leave the house, I always had the matching Reeboks or Adidas or Nikes to match the suit of the day. At least I still stayed in the fashion lane!
Finally, it was time for me to get back to work. My 2-week post surgery appointment gave me the go-ahead to head back to the office. But wait -- it will have been almost three weeks since they last saw me. I have to go in looking cute. I have to find the perfect blouse, and the perfect pencil skirt, and of course, the highest heels I could find in my closet. So Wednesday morning rolled around and I jumped up minutes before the alarm clock sounded -- I was like that kid on the first day of school. I couldn't wait to show up and show out. I wear the cutest black pencil skirt and white French cuffed blouse, fashionably adorned with the right jewelry. My choice of shoes: my Colin Stuart hidden platform pump -- with a full 5.5" heel. Go, Girl! I get dressed and drive into the abyss of the downtown Indianapolis traffic. I stroll into my office waiting so see all of my co-workers! I turn the corner into the corridor that leads to my office and ......viola! Not a soul has made it in.......all this cuteness and no one is here to see it! God really does have a great sense of humor! :-)
Until next time! Stay fashionable, stay focused, stay you! Peace~
